Every year we see the challenges increase as we serve our seniors and persons with disabilities. Information overload is paramount. Technology enables us to become more savvy, but where are we really in terms of leveraging the best for the future of those whom we serve? We hope to address these concerns and find some resolutions and pathways for moving forward into the years ahead. Over a dozen breakout sessions during the conference will help arm the conference attendee with tools and attitudes to take back to the officee and back to their work with seniors. Keynote speaker, Tricia Downing, hails from Colorado and will speak on Everyone Has an Inner Champion. As a world-class physically challenged triathlete, Tricia travels the globe racing and sharing her message of strength and perserverance. Come hear her riveting account of rehab and racing and how she overcame adversity. Teri Bowersock, daugher of Loretta Bowersock, will share her journey of discovering her mother’s financial exploitation, which led to her mother’s eventual murder in the desert. Teri has become a national spokesperson addressing audiences oon the signs and symptoms of financial abuse. Back by popular demand will be sessions of our Virtual Dementia Tour (a product of Second Wind Dreams) that enables the participant to experience first-hand what it feels like to have dementia. If you are a caregiver in any capacity and/or seek to increase your knowledge and skill set for working with those who have dementia, this is a session not to be missed. The impact of hoarding with individuals, families, and communities is gaining increased attention as we work to resolve this disorder. The conference will feature a panel of professionals dedicated to working with those impacted by hoarding and will address the issue from a variety of perspectives.
